ARK - what are the project’s specific features and value? Interview with the ARK co-founder

We all came from the early days of crypto and bitcoin. We knew things could be better, faster and more intuitive – interview with ARK.io Co-Founder

ARK is working on speeding up the blockchain mass adoption. With it in mind, the project’s team is implementing Bearmint – a TypeScript blockchain framework. Bearmint is believed to be the future of the ARK ecosystem. Following this development, we have decided to talk to Travis Walker, the ARK.io Co-Founder to let our users know about the project’s specifics.

LetsExchange (Lets): What unique features does your project have? What is its value?

Travis Walker (TW): ARK has many unique features. We have always gone against the grain while making sure that we have the easiest to use and most intuitive products. We also focus on an easy barrier to entry in the blockchain space.

Our ARK Launcher product allows anyone to create not just their own token but an entirely customized blockchain in minutes with just a few clicks.

With ARK'S custom transaction creation, anyone can build purpose-built use cases without the need for smart contracts by utilizing simple business logic. These are just a few examples that allow developers and users complete freedom and creativity by utilizing our entire suite of products.

Lets: What are your project’s use cases? How can it be applied to solve real-world problems?

TW: ARK's use cases are only limited to the imagination. I personally envision the multichain approach that we have been working towards since 2016. Utilizing cross-chain communication to transfer not only tokens between chains but also to send and share data between them. This is incredibly useful for inventory management and logistics worldwide. I believe this will have an important role in the next phase of adoption in our industry and our upcoming new consensus mechanism will allow this vision of true interoperability to be realized.

Lets: What do you believe are your main competitors? What are your unique benefits compared to them?

TW: I have always joked that ARK has no competitors, only future partners, but I also believe this to be true for the most part.

Open source development is the cornerstone of our industry and working together with industry leaders brings blockchain technology to the forefront of technological growth and advancement.

We do believe this, and it's one main reason we are a founding member of COPA (Crypto Open Patent Alliance) alongside Coinbase and many other industry leaders.

Lets: Who are the project’s supporters? Any famous people/influencers/well-known persons from the industry or other stars?

TW: Due to the nature of blockchain and cryptocurrencies, it is difficult to know who holds ARK or supports the project without the user disclosing it publicly. We have never focused on influencers or celebrities for pure marketing purposes. We just want to provide the best products and let them speak for themselves.

Lets: Where (in which countries or regions) is the project's primary target audience?

TW: We don't want to limit our target to one region or one single target audience. We want ARK to be accessible and useful to everyone and every industry.

Lets: Are there any projects that can serve as a benchmark for your team? Why so?

TW: It's fascinating to watch the Ethereum project grow and develop. In true open source behavior, it is a monster in development, growth and outreach.

Lets: What difficulties did you face in implementing the project?

TW: Besides common startup difficulties, building ARK is a difficult process because this has never been done before. When building everything from scratch, there is no playbook to follow, only building, breaking and learning. It is especially true in our upcoming new consensus that has taken years to come to fruition.

Lets: How is the project surviving the crypto winter? What are the perspectives for the future?

TW: ARK was founded in 2016, and we have been heads down building ever since. In parallel, we have managed our finances thoroughly and frugally. Without a doubt, we are set and able to manage any market swings for the foreseeable future.

Lets: Has anything inspired the founders to launch this specific project with these features?

TW: We all came from the early days of crypto and bitcoin. Ease of use and barrier to entry was an issue when we started. We knew things could be better, faster and more intuitive. We also sought to build an easy-to-use system that can communicate with other blockchains and protocols while minimizing the dependence of smart contracts.

Lets: Can you share funny moments/stories to make the readers remember you?

TW: Well, I can't really narrow down just one moment to make the readers remember me by. But, I do have a hobby on the side in racing.

I have created ARK racing, I personally sponsor 3 racecars currently, with one being Corey LaJoie and the number 7 NASCAR. I have been sponsoring him for 5 years now, and I have a hand in personally designing the car. You can see the ARK 7 NASCAR this October at the Martinsville race on NBC.
